Your art is as trite as life itself. Which, I believe, is only as trite as you pretend it is-if that is one’s wish. The painting, She Smells Like a Coconut, truly takes one to the beach, at that moment, coconut smell and all. Is one joyous afternoon at the beach with a loved one trite? If you ask Rod, I bet he’d say no.
