Long time no see** Gosh your work is still as solid as ever. I freakin’ love your art style because of the high level of realism welded together with the strength of bold line work. Every corner of this image is extremely defined and yet her face is so soft. And even though this drawing isn’t the most emotionally meaningful piece you have done, you can still see the light in her eyes.
P.S. I might be moving to Asheville soon. Is it really a good place for artists?
Thank you for all your kind words, Daniel. Means a lot to me. Asheville is an awesome place in terms of the camaraderie among artists, but there’s no market for our kind of art. I know hundreds or artists here, and the only ones who make a living solely on art are crafts and landscape kind of artists, with a couple exceptions, but those exceptions are constantly stressing about money. All contemporary artists here, myself included, are trying to break markets in LA and NY, etc. If you don’t mind having a day job, and if you don’t mind hustling for galleries in bigger cities, Asheville is a lovely place. i’m out of town a lot, but give me a shout if you wanna visit. cheers!
